Commercial origination

Trade already exists. The opportunity is connecting the right sides of it.

A supplier can have the right product and no efficient route into a market. A buyer can have a clear requirement and no efficient way to identify the right source.

Commerce One starts with the commercial objective, maps the market around it and manages the path between qualified counterparties.

We do not need to own the cargo to help create the trade.

From objective to transaction.

  1. The transaction stays clear. So does Commerce One’s participation.

Questions? Answers.

What is a Commerce One mandate?

A defined commercial appointment under which Commerce One is authorised to pursue an agreed buy-side or sell-side objective within stated boundaries.

What is the difference between a Buy Mandate and a Sell Mandate?

In a Sell Mandate, a supplier, manufacturer, service provider or product owner appoints Commerce One to identify and develop relevant buyers, distributors, OEM customers or other approved counterparties. In a Buy Mandate, a buyer appoints Commerce One to identify and develop suitable suppliers, manufacturers, equipment providers, capacity or other approved commercial sources.

Do you accept every mandate?

No. We assess the product or requirement, market, transaction economics, counterparty universe, fulfilment capability, regulatory position and commercial viability before accepting an appointment.

Can the mandate be non-exclusive?

Yes. Non-exclusive representation can work well where Commerce One has clear protected-account and attribution rights over the opportunities it originates.

How does Commerce One get paid?

A US$5,000 mandate establishment fee, or the published equivalent in your region; US$1,500/month Active Mandate Management from month 2 while Commerce One continues active execution, a separate recurring fee that is not credited against future success participation; and 5%–15% success participation on qualifying transaction value as defined in the mandate agreement. The exact percentage is agreed before the mandate begins.

Does Commerce One take ownership of the goods?

Not in the standard mandate model. The relevant trading parties retain responsibility for product ownership, fulfilment, shipping, warranties and other transaction obligations unless expressly agreed otherwise.

Region and currency

Choose your region to see the published mandate fees in your currency. Your own figures in the fee calculators and on the mandate form use the same currency.

Regional prices are published list prices, rounded for clarity and reviewed periodically, not daily currency conversions. There is no regional surcharge, and prices exclude applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Your own figures are not converted, and published global trade figures stay in US dollars, as their sources report them.
